Surrey Communications and Engagement Group

The Surrey Communications and Engagement Group is an informal network of representatives from local authorities and public organisations working to promote and safeguard nature in Surrey through effective communications and engagement.

This group operates as a Working Group of the Surrey Nature Partnership, focusing on issues within Surrey but also considering cross-boundary matters such as the Downlands and heathlands.

The aim of this group is to achieve consistent messaging to the public to avoid confusion and to support the timely coordination of campaigns for greater reach, while identifying opportunities for joint initiatives that amplify impact. It fosters the sharing of best practices in communication and engagement.

This group provides an excellent means of engaging with peers and making time to improve and establish vital working connections.

We meet in person and remotely, quarterly across Surrey.

Representatives include

  • Local Authorities
  • Surrey Hills National Landscape
  • Surrey Wildlife Trust
  • The National Trust
  • Woodland Trust
  • Forestry Commission
  • RSPB
  • Natural England
