Tice’s Meadow visitor information – Surrey County Council
Come along to a free Community Day at Tice’s Meadow on Saturday 19 July from 10am to 4pm.
Explore this beautiful wildlife area, meet our volunteers and wildlife experts and take part in a whole host of activities including bug hunts, river dipping, bird walks and more.
Bird ringing will be happening throughout the day so you will have the opportunity to find out more about the birds that inhabit the site and how we monitor them.
A selection of wildlife organisations and experts will be on-hand to tell you about the work they do at Tice’s Meadow. Come and meet the Tice’s Meadow Bird Group, West Surrey Badger Group, Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, Surrey Bat Group, Surrey Bird Club, Moth Society and officers from Surrey County Council’s Archaeology, Ecology, Countryside Partnership and Estate teams.
Activities
- River dipping sessions will run from 10am to 12pm.
- Guided Bird Walk with the Surrey Bird Club at 11am
- Kid’s bug hunt during the afternoon
- West Surrey Badger group talk at 2pm
- Opportunity to meet the Downlands Partnership’s resident lamb ‘Lenny’.
All activities will take place from Horton’s Mound, simply follow the on-site signage or interpretation boards.
Car parking and public transport
There is no designated car park for the site. We advise to please park safely in adjoining roads being considerate to residents.

- The nearest train stations to Tice’s Meadow are Farnham and Aldershot.
Buses
- Bus provider: Stagecoach Service numbers 15 and 16.
- Bus stop: Nearest bus stops are Sandown Crescent or Crossroads on the Badshot Lea Road.
